Hawaii Day 4

Our last day here in Hawaii, I once again started my morning with fresh coffee and watching the sunrise. This trip has been so fun and the food around this area is so tasty! My family and I lounged around in the morning getting everything packed up before we start our 22-hour trip home.

Hawaii Day 4

Our last day here in Hawaii, I once again started my morning with fresh coffee and watching the sunrise. This trip has been so fun and the food around this area is so tasty! My family and I lounged around in the morning getting everything packed up before we start our 22-hour trip home.

I wanted to stop by a certain food truck before I left town because it was recommended to me by the locals. We made a quick run into town to stop by Mama Bear’s Kitchen and for some coffee. We tried their top sellers; Da Bearrito, Monte Bear Cristo, Da Boujee Breakfast, Da Smash Burger, and Potato/Egg Taco. All the food was fantastic and well worth the trip. Check out my video below to show you a little bit more about Mama Bear’s Kitchen.

Mama Bear’s Kitchen is a must have if you are in the Kauai Hawaii area. I had the privilege of meeting the owners and their food is so tasty! This food truck does serve breakfast and was so busy when we were visiting. I highly recommend you go here for breakfast or lunch! 🌊⛵️🏝 #Moodyfoodietulsa #kauai #Hawaii #vacation #foodtruck #breakfast #lunch #Mamabear

Since we had to be checked out of our Airbnb before 11am we had to find a few things to do before our 22-hour trip home. We drove out to the Wailua Falls to check out the waterfalls that are known for being featured on the television series Fantasy Land. A short 12-minute drive off the main highway is the beautiful waterfall that is cool to look at for about 5 minutes. For my family it was a cool experience to be a part of, but you must stay on the main road to view the waterfall. There isn’t anything to do other than take some cool selfies or video.

Wailua Falls is a step off the beaten path. 🌊🏞 We wanted to stop by a waterfall before catching our flight home. This waterfall is only about 15 minutes away from the airport on the island of Kauai, Hawaii. #Moodyfoodietulsa #MFTPhotography #photography #waterfall #wailiafalls #kauai #MakeASplash #hawaii #vacation

The Lihue airport is smaller than some of the major Hawaiian airports. First, just like majority of the houses the airport does not have air conditioning and the rest is open for airflow. On the high humidity days, it can get warm inside the facility as the airport only has 2 airconditioned mini restaurants. We got to the airport 2 hours early with knowing how bad the rental car check in process would be since it was a lengthy process when we picked up the car. Did I mention that when we picked up the rental car it took 2.5 hours with a reservation to pick it up?! It was so bad and honestly the most negative thing about the entire trip. After we dropped off the car that took no additional time, we headed over through the breeze of security with TSA Pre Check. We grabbed a quick bite before waiting the remainder of the time at the gate.

The red eye home was the best experience we could hope for as my little one slept through both plane rides. We quickly grabbed our bags in Tulsa, of course stopped at our sushi spot on the way home, ate, showered, and slept for about 12 hours. Our daughter also majorly crashed and now we’re all happy, sunburned and on our way to get our doggies!

Overall, Hawaii was an incredible experience. Some of the sights were something I’ve only seen on TV or in movies and it was incredible to get to see it with my own eyes. My wife and I agree one of the best experiences were us getting to watch our daughter fall in love with the ocean. Her being so scared the first day to laughing and rolling in the waves was beautiful to watch. Getting to spend time with family and truly unplug was just what we all needed. I loved getting to document and share this experience with you all! Stay tuned for the next MFT adventure!
