“Ohana means family. And family means nobody gets left behind or forgotten.” – Lilo and Stitch.

Hawaii Day 3
Starting off our third day with fresh brewed coffee and listening to the waves crash against the shoreline. This morning is going to start off a little different since I had a couple ocean kayaks dropped off from “Bring Me a Kayak”. We quickly ate a bowl of Reece’s Puff cereal, so we could get out the door quickly to get into the water with the kayaks.
I was wanting to get a couple kayaks so the family and I could get out on the water, however it was not easy finding kayak rentals in our area. I finally stumbled upon “Bring Me a Kayak” on google and I couldn’t be happier with the business so far. I literally called them and the next morning an employee brought two kayaks to my front door. They showed me how to strap the kayaks to the rental car and gave me a quick rundown over do’s and don’ts. If you are in the Kauai Hawaii area and need a kayak, I would recommend them! After a long morning of kayaking on the ocean we worked up an appetite.
I looked up several local places that the locals were recommending for lunches. I found Island Taco’s in Waimea Hawaii, voted the Best Tacos in Hawaii. This place was a small building right off the main road in the city. When we walked up the restaurant there was a long line with every table full. I instantly had a good feeling about this place since I could smell the flavors in the air. I ordered the Teri Grilled Chicken Tacos that came with handmade tortilla chips and salsa that was so fresh. This restaurant is known for making all the tortillas, sauces, and marinaded meats by hand. Check out my video for all the details around this restaurant.
After tacos everyone was slightly sunburned, full, and ready for a post-ocean nap. My wife thankfully stayed awake with our child, and it wasn’t long before my phone was pinging waking me up with a text from her saying “Wake up and let’s go find something sweet”. Off to searching I went! We came across Aloha Sweets Bakery and my goodness was it incredible. I think I bought two of everything in their case. We brought the treats back with just enough time for everyone to wake up and enjoy a sweet treat.
We then headed out to the backyard and tossed the football around and played hide and seek with our daughter until it was time to get ready for dinner. The restaurant we chose, The Bullshed, was an hour away from our Airbnb. After my girls got all beautiful, we snapped a couple pics and headed out!
The restaurant was awesome. The service was impeccable, and the food was divine. A more upscale restaurant compared to the smaller places we had seen so far on this trip. We enjoyed a couple drinks and headed back to the car. Luck would have it our minivan broke down on the way home but fortunately our rental car company took care of us and ordered us a Lyft and a wrecker to pick up the car.
We got home about 8 and I put my weary family to sleep. Just goes to show not everything always goes according to plan on vacation but it’s still important to enjoy every minute!
